I’m a Pennsylvanian extremely happily married to a Hawaiian and living in Texas. I’m a Christian, and I try to take God’s character and mission seriously. I fail. I am an alumnus of the University of North Texas, where I studied jazz saxophone. As a result, I am burnt out on jazz saxophone. I am a part-time music educator and a full-time mom to our wonderful daughter, Evangeline. I have an akita named Tolkien and a shaggy little mess named Dot who I love to talk about. I try to care about the world because God does, more than I ever will. I get joy out of recycling.
In December of 2011, I discovered that I have a rare cancer-causing genetic disease called familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). In January, 2012, I had surgery to remove my colon and had a J-Pouch (ileal pouch-anal anastomosis) created. This surgery revealed that I already had early stage colorectal cancer. The process of dealing with this disease has temporarily hijacked my life, and henceforth this blog.
Soli Deo gloria.
Allison,
I was doing a google search for Tolkien the Dog as I heard this group play months ago at Banter’s open mic night. Is that your band? I found mentioning of this on one of your blog posts.
Do y’all have a website or myspace or anything? I’d love to hear y’all jam again. I’m a big fan of hand drums and dug y’alls groove!!
Look me up on Facebook – sparkymotion@gmail.com
Thanks!
I am so happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
